Anise of Flavigny is a candy from Flavigny-sur-Ozerain in Burgundy. Anise candies were first made by the Benedictine monks of the abbey of Flavigny, as reported by the Roman traveller Flavius.
The small anise is no bigger than a grain of rice and crunchy while the original is as big as a pea!
In Flavigny, the tradition is to offer Anis to Weddings: Anis symbolizes the wishes of happiness and fertility that families and friends send to the newlyweds. A great idea to decorate the wedding tables. Made in France by the Anis de Flavigny.
